Design for Manufacturability-Engineering Knowledge that Works for You
Windings' knowledgeable engineering staff can provide assistance to make designs more reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable. Rough cost estimates can be developed quickly based on materials and processes needed. In addition to making cost-effective recommendations, a designated manufacturing engineer monitors the assembly processes and maintains the needed work instructions.
Reverse Engineering Update & Upgrade Print & Document Solutions
With legacy products without an existing manufacturing source, Windings can work from an existing sample to create manufacturing prints and documents for you. Windings can also provide recommendations for updating the materials to the latest available that would fit your application. Prototypes can be built for your qualification process.
Electronic Documentation & Reporting - Project Piece of Mind
Windings maintains and stores all material lists, procedures and work instructions for your specific project. Operators can access up to the minute (real-time) documentation on computer terminals throughout the production area and report production results at each operation through product assembly. Customer order status can be monitored as jobs move through all phases of manufacturing.
Next Level Assembly - Making the Complex Simple
Through years of experience, Windings is able to integrate its assemblies with other components and assemblies to produce complex assemblies. These complex assemblies then have the appropriate tests and quality checks performed. By utilizing Windings' expertise, customers can outsource additional assemblies, reducing their supply chain effort and focus on their own core competencies.
Dynamic Armature Balancing
Windings performs precision balancing of rotating components from 1 gram to 45 pounds. Single- or two-plane dynamic balancing is performed on state-of-the-art computerized equipment.
Material Management - What You Need, When You Need It
Windings will inventory and manage customer-supplied materials if requested. Windings also has an approved vendor base for purchasing any necessary materials needed to complete customer assemblies. Kanbans, pull systems, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and turnkey arrangements are all services that Windings can provide.
Tooling
Windings' toolmakers create many of the unique alignment fixtures, holding fixtures, and other custom tools, needed for product fabrication. This reduces the time to delivery and gets your prototypes to you faster.
Modeling and CAD Capability
Windings has the capability to receive, review, and modify 3D Models using Solidworks 2010™ software. Windings engineering design the unique tooling needed for each customer project or product.
