Design for Manufaturability-Engineering
Winding has a knowledgeable Engineering staff to assist Customers with their motor application and cost needs. A rough cost estimate can be made based upon material costs, and similar processes perfected at Windings. Besides making cost-effective recommendations, a designated Manufacturing Engineering monitors the assembly processes and maintains the needed work instructions.

Reverse Engineering– Update & Upgrade
With legacy products without an existing manufacturing source (perhaps the previous supplier is no longer in business), we can work from an existing sample of the product. We could create manufacturing prints and documents for you. We would also provide recommendations for updating the materials to the latest available that would fit your application. Prototypes would be built for your qualification process.

Electronic Documentation & Reporting
Material lists, procedures and work instructions are stored, maintained and distributed through our computer system. Operators access up to the minute (real-time) documentation on computer terminals distributed throughout the production area. Operators report production result at each operation through the product assembly. Customer order status can be monitored as jobs move through all phases of manufacturing.

Next Level Assembly
Windings uses our expertise to integrate our assemblies with other components and assemblies to produce complex assemblies. These complex assemblies then have the appropriate tests and quality checks performed. By utilizing Windings' expertise, Customers may outsource additional assemblies, reduce purchasing requirements and focus on areas of their expertise.

Dynamic Armature Balancing
Windings performs precision balancing of rotating components from 1 gram to 45 pounds. Single- or two-plane dynamic balancing is performed on new computerized equipment.

Material Management
Windings systems inventories and manages customer supplied materials. Or, Windings has an approved vendor base for purchasing any necessary materials needed to complete the customer assemblies.
Kanbans, pull systems, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and turnkey arrangements are also services that we can provide for you.

Tooling
Windings’ tool makers and machine shop operators in its machine shop create many of the alignment fixtures, holding fixtures, custom tools and other tooling which are unique to product fabrication. This reduces the time to delivery and gets your prototypes to you faster.
